Cleartext DNS Turned Off
Today, as promised, I have turned off cleartext port 53 DNS lookups (TCP&UDP). The reason for this is detailed in this blogpost.
During BornHack this year we had a pretty popular documentation writing workshop which resulted in a lot of good documentation on how to migrate to encrypted DNS on various platforms. Check the repo if you have questions on how to get DNS working after this change, and please submit a PR if you feel like something is missing!
This is a so-called brownout, a 12 hour temporary outage to remind people to switch everything over. The real shutoff point will be October 1st, 1 month from now. The brownout is over and DNS will be enabled again tonight at 20:00 CEST.
